Business Administration Division

Accounting - Assistant Professor

The Business Administration Division invites applications for an entry-level tenure-track appointment in accounting. The successful candidate will hold an earned doctorate in accounting or a related discipline at the effective date of employment, August 1, 2013. Documented research interest and teaching experience in accounting are required. Teaching experience in financial accounting, auditing, government/nonprofit accounting, or accounting ethics is desirable. The successful candidate will show evidence of contribution to scholarly research and teaching excellence. The position is open until filled.

Chair - Business Administration Division
Seaver College invites applications for an appointment as chair of the Business Administration Division to begin August 1, 2014. The administrative appointment of chair includes a faculty appointment within the division. The Business Administration Division comprises the following majors: accounting, business administration, international business, and a joint baccalaureate/MBA degree with the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University. The Business Administration Division is housed within Seaver College, the undergraduate college at Pepperdine. Applicants must hold an earned doctorate and demonstrate success as a teacher and administrator. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education, a genuine interest in students and teaching, and a dedication to serving undergraduate students. Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of the division, such as budget management, hiring, class allocation, evaluation of divisional colleagues, and assessment of curricular programs. Applications should include a statement regarding one's leadership style and vision for the Business Administration Division, in addition to the documents listed above. Communication Division

Advertising – Assistant Professor
The Communication Division invites applications for an entry-level tenure-track appointment in advertising. The successful candidate will be able to teach several courses within our 120-plus student major, including Introduction to Advertising, Advertising Media, Digital Media Strategy, and Advertising Research and Planning. The ability to teach general media courses, such as Storytelling Through Media, Communication Theories, and Communication Research, is preferred. The successful candidate will also serve as a curriculum adviser for advertising student majors, advise the co-curricular Ad Club, and oversee the curriculum component of student internships. A strong research agenda is necessary, as is a commitment to the Christian mission of the University. The position is open until filled, and the effective date of employment is August 1, 2013.

Public Relations – Assistant Professor
The Communication Division invites applications for an entry-level tenure-track appointment in public relations. The successful candidate will be able to teach several courses within our 100-plus student major, including Introduction to Public Relations, Public Relations Writing, and Public Relations Techniques and Campaigns. The ability to teach general media courses, such as Storytelling Through Media, Communication Theories, and Communication Research, is preferred. The successful candidate will also co-advise the Fred Casmir chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America, serve as a curriculum adviser for public relations student majors, and oversee the curriculum component of student internships. Documented research interest, teaching experience, and professional experience in public relations are required. The position is open until filled, and the effective date of employment is August 1, 2013.

Social Science Division

Economics - Assistant Professor
The Social Science Division invites applications for an entry-level tenure-track position in economics to begin August 1, 2014. Areas of specialization within economics are open, but teaching experience in introductory macroeconomics, intermediate macroeconomic theory, and mathematical economics and econometrics is desirable. Qualifications include: Ph.D. in economics, university teaching experience, evidence of quality scholarship, and a commitment to fostering quality teaching and advising in a liberal arts environment.
