Pepperdine University's Seaver College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences, situated in Malibu, California, invites applications for tenure-track and visiting faculty positions that may be available for the 2012-2013 academic year. Accounting - Assistant Professor
The Business Administration Division is seeking a candidate who holds an earned doctorate in accounting or a related discipline at the effective date of employment, August 1, 2012. Documented research interest and teaching experience in accounting are required. Teaching experience in government/nonprofit accounting and accounting ethics are desirable. Communication - Assistant Professor
The Communication Division invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Communication to begin August 1, 2012. We seek candidates who can teach two or more communication core courses (communication theory, communication research methods, and message creation and effects). Candidates with an ability to teach intercultural communication (coupled with experience living in another culture), an ability to teach communication law, and/or the ability to teach courses in strategic communication (advertising, public relations and/or integrated marketing communication) will receive priority consideration. Journalism/Mass Communication - Assistant Professor

Theatre (Production/Design) - Visiting Assistant Professor
The Fine Arts Division invites applications for a three-year, full-time visiting faculty position in theatre production/design to begin August 1, 2012. The successful candidate will have an MFA in theatrical design with expertise in stage lighting. This position emphasizes recruiting, teaching, and mentoring undergraduate production/design majors. The candidate will work collaboratively with the Technical Director, Assistant Technical Director, and Costume Designer to supervise student production crews. Teaching responsibilities include lighting design, rendering techniques, and drafting (hand & vectorworks), and may include, depending on expertise and the needs of the two-year course rotation, a course in advanced stagecraft, scenic design, scenic painting, or stage management. The candidate will also design lights for two shows out of a five-show season and sets for one to two productions. Great Books - Professor/Endowed Chair

Biology - Visiting Assistant Professor
The Natural Science Division invites applications for a one-year appointment as a Visiting Professor of Biology to begin August 1, 2012. Applicants who have completed a Ph.D. in biology or zoology by July 2012 are desired. Areas of expertise that are of particular interest include cellular/molecular biology, animal physiology, marine biology, biostatistics, and behavioral biology. The successful candidate should demonstrate exceptional interest and effectiveness in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students. Sports Medicine - Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor

The Social Science Division invites applications for three faculty positions in psychology to begin August 1, 2012. The first position is a tenure-track position. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in cognitive psychology, principles of learning, sensation/perception, and research methodology; it is expected that the individual would be active in scholarship in one or more of those areas. The second position is a one-year visiting position. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in physiological psychology, psychopharmacology, and introductory psychology. The third position is also a one-year visiting position. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in social psychology, introductory statistics, and intermediate statistics. Qualifications for all three positions include a Ph.D. in psychology, university teaching experience, evidence of scholarship (tenure-track position only), and a commitment to excellent teaching in a Christian liberal arts environment.
