Pepperdine University's Seaver College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences, situated in Malibu, California, invites applications for tenure-track and visiting faculty positions that may be available for the 2012-2013 academic year. All successful candidates will have a Ph.D. or equivalent, a preference for undergraduate teaching, a research agenda, and an active commitment to the university’s Christian mission. Business Administration Division

Accounting - Assistant Professor
The Business Administration Division seeks a candidate who holds an earned doctorate in accounting or a related discipline at the effective date of employment, August 1, 2012. Documented research interest and teaching experience in accounting are required. Teaching experience in government/nonprofit accounting and accounting ethics are desirable. The successful candidate will have a commitment to excellent teaching at the undergraduate level, the potential to conduct research, and will be actively involved in a faith community. Accounting - Assistant Professor
The Business Administration Division invites applications for an entry-level tenure-track appointment in accounting. The successful candidate will hold an earned doctorate in accounting or a related discipline at the effective date of employment, August 1, 2013. Documented research interest and teaching experience in accounting are required. Teaching experience in financial accounting, auditing, government/nonprofit accounting, or accounting ethics is desirable. The successful candidate will show evidence of contribution to scholarly research and teaching excellence. The position is open until filled.

Communication Division

Journalism/Mass Communication - Assistant Professor
The Communication Division invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in journalism/mass communication to begin August 1, 2012. We seek candidates who can teach courses in mass communication – specifically in one or more mediated communication areas, including journalism (primarily print, online, broadcast and emerging) and communication law OR strategic communication (advertising, public relations, and integrated marketing communication). A Ph.D. and a proven scholarly record of publication is required; at least three years of professional experience is strongly desired.

Religion Division

Practical Theology - Assistant Professor of Religion
The Religion Division invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in practical theology and ministry. Applicants must hold an earned doctorate in practical ministry or practical theology at the effective date of employment, August 1, 2013. Documented research interest and teaching experience in practical ministry/practical theology is preferred. The successful candidate will have a commitment to excellent teaching and critical research and will be actively involved in a faith community associated with acapella Churches of Christ.

Social Science Division

Psychology - Visiting Assistant Professor

The Social Science Division invites applications for a one-year visiting position in psychology to begin August 1, 2012. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in social psychology, introductory statistics, and intermediate statistics. Qualifications include a Ph.D. in psychology, university teaching experience, and a commitment to excellent teaching in a Christian liberal arts environment. Review of applicants will begin December 1, 2011 and continue until the position is filled.
