Administrative Director
Under the direction of the Dean of Seaver College, the Center Director manages and directs all activities of the Center for Teaching Excellence including:
- managing the budget;
- hiring and supervising the work of all center personnel;
- planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating all programs and projects for the faculty directed toward the improvement of teaching and learning;
- counseling faculty regarding best practices in teaching including those involving emerging technologies;
- analyzing and interpreting data to assist faculty in making data-based instructional decisions;
- designing needs assessments and evaluations for development and implementation of unit needs related to teaching and learning;
- assisting in the development of grant proposals for external funding of teaching improvement projects;
- assisting faculty and professionals in design, implementation, and evaluation of teaching innovations, and planning of instructional research projects.
Must have an earned doctorate and experience teaching in higher education. Previous experience in faculty development and administrative responsibilities preferred.
Administrative Assistant
Under the direction of the Administrative Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence, the Administrative Assistant supports the activities of the Center including:
- scheduling and setting-up for campus events;
- screening calls for the Center Director;
- answering questions from individuals about Center programs and services;
- preparing and disseminating information on Center activities; through print and electronic media;
- registering participants and maintaining a database;
- preparing reports on Center activities; and
- maintaining files of Center activities and resources.
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills with attention to detail and computer literacy required. Experience working with faculty, maintaining confidential and financial records, issuing purchase orders and with the use of computer graphics preferred.
