Student Journalism

Seaver students have the opportunity to work on our nationally acclaimed weekly newspaper, The Graphic, the Impressions Yearbook, Currents Magazine, or our on-line version of The Graphic. Faculty advisers to these publications bring decades of experience as daily newspaper and magazine editors, in addition to providing students with expertise in communication law, in-depth reporting, ethics and religious journalism.

If you are interested in any part of Student Publications, please come join us for Our Big Week (OBW). We start planning the year and put together the first issue of The Graphic. OBW typically takes place in August, the week before classes begin. Participants are allowed to move into their dorms early!

PUBLICATIONS:

The Graphic

In addition to the highly sophisticated word-of-mouth information network commonly known as "the Peppervine," the student body also relies on the Graphic Weekly newspaper to get the actual facts on campus issues and events. Produced by a relatively small group of driven information gatherers, artists, and writers, this quality publication comes out every Thursday afternoon through the hard work and dedication of it's student led staff. For access to the on-line Graphic, go to http://graphic.pepperdine.edu/

Currents

Currents magazine is a creative work of feature articles released once a semester, covering a wide variety of topics. Everything from Christian perspective on news reporting to a review of Los Angeles hot spots might be found within its pages, from the perspectives of many student contributors. It's often a daunting task for the student who takes on the job of Currents editor to decide how to tie everything together.

Impressions Yearbook

Students who work on the yearbook understand that, although it is an engaging activity and often fun to capture student life in pictures, they are providing a great service to their fellow students in the creation of a memento whose sentimental value increases with each passing year. These students are dedicated to their task, and to their school.
