Within the walls of the Center for Communication and Business building resides a state of the art radio and television production center.
Seaver students may specialize in broadcast journalism (news) and production. Students have the opportunity to work on Pepperdine's cable television and radio stations: TV 26, and KWVS 101.5 F.M., which serve the campus and Malibu communities.
NewsWaves is a local television newscast produced by students at Pepperdine University. Most are majors in broadcast news or production, but students of other majors participate and are welcome.
NewsWaves is the only independent local television news coverage available that concentrates on the Malibu-Calabasas area. Students shoot video and gather information about stories in the community. The students present NewsWaves on Pepperdine's TV 26 twice weekly during most weeks that classes are in session. The newscast is televised live at 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from late September to mid November and from late January to early April. The newscast is repeated at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
TV 26 shows educational, public affairs, entertainment, and arts programming, provided through Pepperdine University's Communication Division. Pepperdine students produce some of the programs. TV 26 has a potential audience of more than 12,000 households in Malibu, parts of Calabasas, and a few other nearby areas.
The television production area boasts a digital newsroom with 10 Avid machines used to cut field footage to be inserted into live news broadcasts from the studio. Students also produce independent television programs, and have access to 6 separate editing bays for individual productions.

The Lloyd Sigmon radio studio makes use of state of the art equipment, while its décor pays tribute to one of Southern California's radio icons.
KWVS/FM 101.5 is a local FM radio station that is student run and produced.
If you are interested in becoming a part of the Radio Station, please contact Dr. Kara Gould at Kara.Gould@pepperdine.edu.
