The Randumb Show is the longest running TV show in the history of Pepperdine University, produced solely by students. The show has generated more people who go on to work in the entertainment industry than any other show on campus. The show originated in 1995 When Mike Richards (now Executive Producer of "The Price is Right" & "Let's Make a Deal") was asked to leave the News team because he made too many jokes on air. He was allotted a space on what was then TV3 (later TV26, and currently TV32). He hosted and produced the show in a late night talk show style where he would call up guests, roll a number of sketches and usually have a musical guest perform live.
Since Mike the show has seen various producers and formats. During the 2009-2010 season Seth Allison & Jeff Loveness produced the show with Grant Harling Directing and Kyle Helf and Mishy Turner as key contributors. This was the first year the show has been completely field produced. It took on more of a Monty Python's Flying Circus Feel. They Produced 6 episodes including a special 15 year Anniversary show in which they brought back Mike Richards and filmed on the set of the Price is Right with Drew Carey.
Seth Allison is back producing with Blake Curtis, Mishy Turner, Hayden Christensen, & Robby DeVillez as co-producers. The format is similar to the last. Everything on the show is student produced, directed, written, acted, and organized by students. All Pepperdine Students are welcome to participate and are encouraged to contact the crew in order to get involved. Plus students are able to earn up to two credits per semester working on the show. Many of the production classes will allow extra credit to anyone who helps in production.
