Majors and Minors

The Communication Division includes many interrelated academic disciplines dealing with the theory and practice of human communication, whether in written, oral, or visual form. In many professions—teaching, journalism, management, broadcasting, advertising, public relations, politics, community service, the ministry, and, increasingly, in government and industry—conscious attention must be devoted to developing professional communication skills. Even in the daily experiences of citizenship, family living, and business, the quality of life depends heavily upon the effective communication of information, values, and feelings. The Communication Division offers several undergraduate majors as minors as well as graduate programs.
