Promoting teaching, research, and scholarly exchange about
East Asia, Asian Studies takes an interdisciplinary approach
offering courses on the traditional and modern cultures of China
and Japan. Asian Studies maintains a
specialized library on East Asia, provides scholarships, sponsors
programs that foster greater understanding of the region, and
offers study in the Japanese and Chinese languages. |

This program, overseen by expert faculty drawn from key disciplines of Seaver College, promotes the teaching and study of
international affairs from an interdisciplinary perspective. The
Program's International Studies majors take a core set of classes
in international politics, economics, and culture, then
specialize in International Management,
Political Studies, International/Intercultural Communication,
Asian Studies, European Studies, or Latin American Studies. |

The Modern Languages curriculum includes Francophone,
Germanic, Italian and Hispanic studies. Courses are offered
which lead to a major in French, German and Spanish; a minor in
Italian; and the fulfillment of the general education foreign
language requirement.. Classes are available on the home campus,
in one of Seaver’s regular overseas programs (Heidelberg,
Florence, Buenos Aires) or in special intensive language
programs offered in Madrid and Buenos Aires. |
