Before official acceptance into the Business Administration Division, students will be classified as pre-accounting, pre-business administration, or pre-international business majors.
Students may apply for full admission to the division after completion of at least forty-eight units with an overall grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Applications will only be accepted after grades are received.
Additionally, a student must be admitted to the major before completing 85 academic credits, unless the student has received an advance waiver from the Business Administration Division.
Admission to the Business Administration Division is not automatic. The process is highly competitive and students are encouraged to aim for an even higher grade point average than the minimum. Participation in Convocation and extracurricular activities will also improve the likelihood of full admission.
The following courses must be part of the forty-eight units needed for admission to the program, and a grade of "C-" or better is required in each course:
| Course ID | Course Name | Units | Term |
|---|---|---|---|
| AC 224 | Financial Accounting | 4 | F,SP |
| BA 210 | Introduction to Microeconomics | 3 | F,SP |
| BA 216 | Statistical Analysis for Business Decisions | 4 | F,SP |
| BA 212 | Business Computing Applications | 2 | F,SP |
| ECON 211 | Introduction to Macroeconomics (GE) | 3 | F,SP |
| MATH 140 | Calculus for Business and Economics (GE) | 3 | F,SP |
| MATH 141 | Probability and Linear Algebra | 3 | F,SP |
Transfer students will be considered for acceptance to a business major if they meet the above requirements and submit an application to the division.
