The combination of a Christian school with highly regarded academics is what initially drew me to Pepperdine. Now that I am a student, I can say that Pepperdine is a place unlike any other—a crucial resource for understanding my calling and purpose in life. By challenging students to develop a sense of vocation that draws upon their talents, passions, and faith, Pepperdine pushes students to pursue more than a career. Pepperdine's proximity to Los Angeles provides me rewarding opportunities to work with underprivileged people. As a recipient of the national Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship, I will travel to Latin America and prepare for a career as a doctor by studying health care in another culture and by continuing to volunteer my time.
