Tips for Applying for Admission as an International Student

  • Identify what standardized exam you need to take. Whether it is the TOEFL, SAT/ACT or IELTS, by figuring out what we require for you specifically, this will enable you to have the time necessary to research where you can take the exams, study for the exams, and potentially have time to take them more than once. Learn more about what test you are required to submit with you application here.
  • Don't forget to translate. Please have your high school or college transcript translated and notarized in addition to your official, national transcript.
  • Do your research. We encourage you to talk with a current student, get in touch with your admission counselor, and thoroughly understand the mission of Pepperdine.
  • Don't procrastinate and apply early! Sometimes it takes time for packages to travel internationally and arrive at our office in Malibu. Take this into consideration and allow enough time to send additional copies of documents in case any get lost in the mail.
  • Send in your International Student Data (ISD) form with your application material. This way, if you are admitted, our Designated School Officials can issue you an I-20 and we can send it with your admitted student letter. This will enable you to start the student visa application process right away.

Loans

Various private lending institutions offer private or alternative educational loans to international students. Most lending institutions require that you have a co-signer who is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident with a valid social security number in order to qualify. You can view educational loan options by clicking here.

International Student Data (ISD) Form

International students are required to fill out a financial statement with their application. This form allows Pepperdine to process and expedite the Form I-20. Submission of the financial statement is for governmental purposes, and does not affect your admission decision or scholarship issuance. The form should therefore be completed with accuracy.
