Academic Advising

Meet Your Academic Advisor

How many people can truly say that they love their job? I consider myself fortunate in that regard. Advising, to me, is not just about picking a major or designing a schedule. Working in the Academic Advising Center allows me to get to know the students in our community and hopefully have a hand in the achievement of their goals. I believe that every student here has the potential to be successful and happy and I am committed to working with them to realize that potential. My role here is truly a blessing and I am thankful to not only be able to guide our students through the administrative processes here, but also to support them during difficult times and rejoice at their successes.

I discovered a passion for working with students in a number of different settings early on. Whether helping a freshman choose a major or guiding a senior through his/her last few classes, I have found that I am most motivated by seeing students succeed and meet his/her goals. As an academic advisor for Seaver College, I am excited to help students identify their goals and begin the process of achieving them. I consider it a gift to be a part of this beautiful community, guiding undergrads through what will be some of the most exciting and memorable years of their lives.

I consider it a wonderful privilege to work at Pepperdine University as an academic advisor. College is a unique time in life. It is during these years that students set their life trajectory. I want to encourage students to pursue their educational and professional goals for the purpose of honoring God and serving others. As these students’ mature and grow, I want to inspire them to see every experience and opportunity as preparation for what lies ahead. It is a blessing to have a job that allows me to help young leaders plan for the future.

Over the many years that I have worked at the University, it has been a joy advising students. I am able to see the excited faces of the new students entering Pepperdine for the first time and the anticipation of our graduates as they go out to face the world. It is a blessing being able to advise students and see them reach their goals. I so enjoy working with the wonderful students here and the opportunity to be a part of this beautiful community.
