Music – Assistant Professor/Director of Choirs
Pepperdine University seeks applicants for Assistant Professor of Music/Director of Choirs tenure track position. Preference will be given to candidates with a doctorate in choral conducting or a related field. Candidates who have demonstrated a professional equivalency or who are ABD will also be considered. The Director of Choirs will conduct the music department’s choral ensembles, coordinate and develop the Music Education program and teach classes in secondary music education. Other responsibilities include providing choral music for worship services coordinated by the University Chaplain’s office, leading a yearly choral tour, recruiting, and teaching classes in conducting and other courses based upon the faculty member’s background and experience. Theatre – Assistant Professor

Mathematics - Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor
Applicants who have completed a Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics, or other mathematical discipline by August, 2010 are desired; however, exceptional applicants with a M.A. or M.S. mathematics or statistics will be considered. Teaching is our foremost emphasis in Seaver College, and candidates should demonstrate exceptional interest, effectiveness and ingenuity in developing undergraduate students mathematically. Candidates should have the interest and ability to teach a broad range of math classes as teaching duties may include pre-calculus, calculus for math and science majors, calculus and finite mathematics for business majors, and statistics. Nutrition – Assistant, Associate or Full Professor
Pepperdine University seeks tenure-track faculty position in Applied Human Nutrition and Nutritional Science for the 2010-2011 academic year. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Nutrigenomics or Nutrition Informatics and possess the ability to teach coursework in nutritional science. Applicants with a Registered Dietitian credential from the American Dietetic Association are preferred. The faculty position is listed at the rank of Associate or Full Professor; however, unusually accomplished and promising candidates at the Assistant Professor level will be considered. Exceptional applicants also may be considered for the Flora Laney Thornton Chair in Nutritional Science. Candidates should have the ability to teach a spectrum of undergraduate courses in nutritional science ranging from general nutrition and introductory foods to public health nutrition, nutrition education, cultural nutrition, and a senior-level capstone course in nutrition.
All candidates will have a Ph.D. or equivalent, a preference and demonstrated ability for undergraduate teaching, the ability to conduct research with undergraduate students, a willingness to collaborate with colleagues in other disciplines, outstanding oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and an active commitment to the university’s Christian mission. Candidates seeking an appointment at a senior level should have an outstanding record of peer-reviewed research and scholarly publication. Assistant professor candidates must have a commitment to develop an active scholarly program and the potential to develop an outstanding record of scholarship. Sociology - Visiting Assistant Professor
We seek a candidate who holds an earned doctorate in Sociology with research or teaching experience in one or more of the following areas: Crime and Delinquency, Deviant Behavior, Sociology of Religion, and Social Stratification, but consideration will be given to any specialization within sociology. Ideally the candidate would be available to teach three semesters beginning in January 2010 and continuing through the spring 2011, although we will consider candidates who are only available for the 2010-2011 academic year. Psychology - Visiting Assistant Professor
The Social Science Division invites applications for the 2010-11 academic year. This is a one-year visiting position, including a course load of eight courses. The course load is expected to include psychological testing and assessment, research methods, contemporary personality research, clinical topic areas, introductory psychology and a course in the individual’s area of interest/expertise. Qualifications include: Ph.D. in relevant area of psychology, university teaching experience, and a commitment to quality teaching in a liberal-arts environment.
